Medan: A Place I don't Call Home

Proud of being the third lagest city in Indonesia, after Jakarta and Surabaya, it fells asleep. It didn't realize while both cities mentioned last was racing to evolve themselves, it was going nowhere. The main academic institution -government university- is detriorating. Local high school graduates prefer universities in Java or overseas to the local ones. Art is undeniably forgotten and considered unimportant.

As an Indonesian proverbs says "like a frog in a shell", before I went out and lived in different sides of Indonesia I always considered that it was the best city in the world: the food had the most delicious taste, the people is the nicest and so on. I couldn't see that every place has its distinct characteristic which has positive and negative sides.

Though I was born in this city, I never felt alive in it. Ever since I graduated from high school I had planned to leave it. As time goes by, finding another place that I felt alive, knowing what I want in life, personal unpleasant experience in this city and in searching of a place called home, I realize that I don't belong to this city.

So.. Goodbye Medan. I wont miss u

That Girl is Pretty

She may not be the prettiest
Nor she is pretty to every eyes
But she is pretty
Don't you think so?

You were looking at her
Admiring the sincere smile
Amazed by he attractive figure
A perfection from head to toe

As far far as the eyes can see
That's all that you know
What I'm going to tell you now
Might change or firm what you see

A free soul she has
A rebeller from heart
Not a place can keep it
Nor rule to govern it

She might not sing like an angel
But rythms and melody fills the heart
Nor she has wings just like angels
But heart of angel lies within

Though scars been carved
Rain of tears been hard
In Love she is still
Which covers the thrill

Behind the silent lips
Shouts the loudest mind
So if you think she is pretty
Say "hi" and strive

Pick by Your Heart

Oh you know it
On that day when you saw an angel
Ray of light shone through the clouds
So bright and purifying, piercing your soul
Enlighten mind, remedy heart

Oh you know then
There is only one angel
The one that touches your soul
For she can see far beyond the eyes
What lies deep within the heart

Lights and touches wasted overly
Try to reach the soul in its natural existence
A tantalizing offer you could accept
A game that trigger adrenaline for awhile
A certainty, a doubtful heart needs

Oh heart knows, sure it knows
But you, sometime you don't know
Sometimes you hesitate, sometimes you are fooled
By fake angels, semi angels, by you
For certainty is up to you

                                        Pusdiklat, 27th April 2015

Some young hearts play games. They're fool.
Some crooked hearts play with other hearts, to find a true heart. They're fooler and mean.
Some doubtful hearts play with their own hearts. They're the foolest and weak.

To Love Against Time

If you desire my longlife companionship
Would you ignore the time?
If you wish for me to stand by your side
Can I be the only one? please..

Time has been an associate of a broken heart
But a woe for a yearning one
It allies with impossibility
And becomes the partner of hindrances

"Rush!" it whispers
For life has only a little time
names and claims varies and scaries
bend the structure, warp the mind

How vulnarable a man's strength is
Or how hesitant a lonely heart is
Don't you know that love is beyond time?
And life is all the time?

Time stops the struggle
Time wins the battle between heart and mind
Time forces to betray faithfulness
Leave out oneness with proposal

                                               To those who can't wait
A little more time and you might win a heart

A Girl is Looking Into the Sea

A girl is looking into the sea
Bearing sentiment of what the eyes see
The bluish, calm, melancholic depth
Has captured a heart and that I see

Within, touting fishes and corals graze
Of spots and curves and lines in maze
Of figured suits which mingle and tingle
Irrefutable miracle, how can't I amaze?

Sun-shined sky can't tranquilize stormy ocean
Rafferty hidden in heavily wooded mountain
On pure coast, in between, my feet now set
Against the heaviness I have to chasten

"Must I leave?" should be the question
Defeat the distance with imagination
Along the journey of a yearning heart
To see the sea again is its expectation
